Background[]
Jango Fett was born on the moon of Concord Dawn, a barren world left recasted after the constant wars its Mandalorian colonists waged on it. Orphaned at a young age, Fett was eventually discovered by a group of Mandalorians who, as dictated by the Mandalorian Creed, took him and trained in their combat arts as a foundling. When he came of age, Jango was sworn to the Creed, making him an official Mandalorian warrior. He would go on to fight in the Mandalorian Civil Wars, a series of wars fought on Mandalore between rival clans and houses. The wars however, left the planet devastated and half of its population massacred. This led to rise of the Ducthess Satine, the leader of the New Mandalorians who sought to abandon Mandalore’s warrior past and built a society dedicated to pacifism. As a result, Jango, along with the rest of the planet’s warriors, were exiled from Mandalore due to their adherence to Mandalore’s violent past. Jango then ended up becoming a member of the Old Mandalorians faction, Mandalorian warriors who excepted their exile and sought to preserve their heritage by becoming working throughout the galaxy as mercenaries and bounty hunters. Though Jango was a member of the Old Mandalorians, he preferred to be independent and thus never joined any of the Old Mandalorian organizations. He traveled the galaxy, using his Mandalorian training, armor, and weapons as a professional bounty hunter, mercenary, and contract killer, taking extremely dangerous jobs for expensive prices. His reputation grew so great that he became known and feared throughout the galaxy as the best bounty hunter to have ever lived. This unintentionally made Jango the most famous of the Old Mandalorians.
