James is the main antagonist of Stephanie Meyer's highly-acclaimed vampire romance novel Twilight and a posthumous character in the subsequent sequels. He is an evil vampire and leader of his coven consisting of him, his wife, Victoria and their friend Laurent.
The coven begin to commit a series of serial killings in the town of Forks, Washington. After an encounter with the Cullen family at a baseball game, he notices Bella. Later, James tries to attack her at her old ballet studio. However, James is killed by Edward Cullen before he is able to do further damages to Bella.
