Jafar is one of the tertiary antagonists of the 2015 film Descendants. He is over of the villains trapped on the Isle of the Lost and was the father of one of the VKs, Jay. He was the main antagonist of Aladdin.
Personality[]
In the original Aladdin, Jafar was ambitious and power hungry, which Aladdin used to his advantage by pointing out that even if Jafar was a powerful sorcerer, he will still be second best in comparison to the Genie. This made him resentful towards Aladdin even further when Jafar used his West wish to become an all powerful genie but not realizing the consequences of being bound by the rules of the Lamp.
In Descendants Jafar was freed from the lamp and sent to live on the Isle of the Lost with the other Disney villains. He also is still very naive and gullible as he thought that an oil lamp that Jay liberated from somebody else housed a powerful genie. Jay told his father that no matter how many times he rubbed, nothing happened. It implies that like some of the villains, Jafar has become somewhat mentally unstable. As Jay's father, Jafar isn't as bad as parenting when it comes to Maleficent and Cruella's parenting. Despite Jay having seemingly no issues with Jafar, he still felt unloved by his father. He also seems surprised and actually laughed when Carlos stood up to Cruella during their video chat. In addition to Jafar's wickedness, Mal implied that their parents are going to metaphorically kill them for falling to get the wand, showing Jafar still has a dark side.
Trivia[]
- Jafar is part of Maleficent's hang just like Jay is with Maleficent's daughter, Mal.
