The Iron Hills are a location featured in The Lord of the Rings series.
Dwarves of the Iron Hills[]
The people originated from the Grey Mountains, a kingdom ruled by King Dain I, who had three sons. However, after the destruction of the Grey Mountains by cold-drakes, Dain's youngest son, Grór took the largest portion of the people and settled in the Iron Hills. He became the first Lord of the Iron Hills. Later, his grandson Dáin Ironfoot became the Lord of the Iron Hills and also was king under the Mountain. Dain's only child and son Thorin Stonehelm presumably became Lord of the Iron Hills and also King under the Mountain as well.
