The Invisibility Cloak is one of the three titular objects of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was possessed by Ignotus Peverell and allegedly created by Death itself in Legend. However, in truth, it was possibly Ignotus who created it. Ignotus passed the cloak from him to his son and his son passed it onto his daughter, who had no male heirs. Instead, she asked her husband to pass it down in their family and he carried on his wife's tradition. Since then, the Invisibility Cloak was passed from father to son in the Potter family. James gave it to Albus Dumbledore, who later gave the cloak back to Harry Potter.
