Ichthyosaurus (meaning "fish lizard") is a genus of ichthyosaurs lived from the Late Triassic and Early Jurassic period. (Hettangian - Pliensbachian) of Europe (more specifically Belgium, England, Germany, and Portugal).

Ichthyosaurus was four paddle-like fins, a shark-type dorsal fin and a fish-like tail, long, slender jaws with many sharp teeth and large eyes strengthened by rings of bone.

The Ichthyosaurus does not appear in the movies itself but rather the video game series.
Ichthyosaurus is an enemy in the NES game Jurassic Park, has a brief appearance in Area 2 of the arcade game Jurassic Park. They do not attack the player, but they can be shot, created in the game Jurassic Park III: Park Builder.
Ichthyosaurus is seen with its skull displayed in the Vault along with many other species specimens in Jurassic World: Aftermath.

- The creature's name is derived from Greek ἰχθύς (ichthys) meaning 'fish' and σαῦρος (sauros) meaning 'lizard', literally translating it to "lizard fish."
- Some specimens of the ichthyosaurid Protoichthyosaurus from England and Switzerland have been erroneously referred to this genus in the past.
- It is among the best known ichthyosaur genera, as it is the type genus of the order Ichthyosauria.
- Ichthyosaurus was the first complete fossil to be discovered in the early 19th century by Mary Anning in England.
