House of de Bois is the name of a noble family from the BBC series, Merlin. The family has been shown recurring throughout the show.
History[]
The house of De Bois is a family of higher nobility in Camelot. There were three children of the family, Tristan, Agravaine and Ygraine. Tristan became a knight of Camelot, Ygraine became Queen when she married Uther Pendragon and Agravaine later became a Lord. Since Ygraine could not have children, Uther asked Nimueh to help them. However, Ygraine passed away in childbirth to allegedly keep a balance in the world, according to Nimueh. Instead, Tristan blamed Uther for his sister's death and challenged him to a duel. The king killed his brother-in-law during the fight, but not before Tristan vowed his vengeance on Camelot. Two decades later, Tristan was resurrected as a wraith by Nimueh but ironically killed by Uther in combat yet again with the Excalibur sword.
Meanwhile, Agravaine grew to hate Arthur and Uther but mostly the latter for being the indirect cause of both his siblings' demise. He conspired with Arthur's half sister Morgana, who equally hated both her father and brother, while acting as Arthur's adviser. However, Agravaine was later killed by Merlin in the caves below Essetir when he learned the latter's secret of having magic. With Agravaine's death, Ygraine's lineage lived on with Arthur until his own demise at the hands of Mordred. Since the series ended before more family members ever made further appearance, the current fate of the family is unknown.

Despite Agravaine not bearing it, the family crest was most likely the white Phoenix seen on Tristan's shield.
