Hot Rod (formerly known as Rodimus Prime) is one of the main protagonists of the Transformers franchise . He is the main protagonist of the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movieand the third season of the Animated series and one of the two tritagonists of the 2017 film Transformers: The Last Knight.

The Transformers: The Movie

Hot Rod is a part of the new generation of Autobots who is given the Matrix of leadership by a dying Optimus Prime and given the title of "Prime." He is also close friends with Spike and Carly Witwicky's son, Daniel and a potential love interest for Arcee.

Hot Rod appears in My Little Pony and Transformers Crossover, where he is one of the Autobots to befriend Scootaloo. They show her their side of the tracks before returning her to her aunts, Lofty and Holiday.
