Hobbits were humainoid creatures who inhabited west of Middle-earth known as the Shire. They were shorter than the dwarves. Some of them were almost the same height.
Characteristic Traits[]
Hobbits were a humanoid species who were closely related to the race of Men, with notable distinguishing features. They were known to age as half as humans and could live up to even 130 and were notable short, standing between two and three feet. Hobbits were notably smaller than dwarves. However, on rare occasions, hobbits are taller, as Bilbo was four foot eleven. On a notable exception, Pippin and Merry reached the heights of 4'0" and 3'8."
Hobbits also had curly hair that varied from brown to red to blond. However, blond was a rare occasion. They also had pointy ears and big feet. They were always barefoot and never wore shoes due to their feet acting like shoes of their own. They also prefer the comforts of home, with the Took clan being the notable exception.
Abilities[]
There is also nothing magical about them. However, they were known to be quite elusive and had keen eye sight and hearing. Bilbo proved this when he was able to see the stairs that would get him and his friends to the Lonely Mountain, even Thorin acknowleding Bilbo had keen eyes.
Society and Culture[]
Hobbits usually lived in hobbit holes, or smials as they are called. They never believed in having a king and the closest thing they had was the Thain. They usually ate seven meals: breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper. They usually farmed the lands and enjoyed growing things. Bilbo was known for having an exotic garden.
They also gave away birthday presents rather than receiving gifts on their actual one. Valuing home above gold, they had no love for treasures. Hobbits developed a love for ale and valued friendships among others.
Technology[]
Hobbits usually never specialized in weapons. However, most of them did develop bows and arrows and had farming equipment during the Scouring of the Shire.
