Early History[]

Millions of years ago, Hestia and her  siblings were born to Kronos and Rhea, the king and queen of the Titans, as their first child. Despite his father Ouranos's prophecy, Kronos actually looked forward to being a father. But upon looking at Hestia, he saw she was not a Titan but an Olympian.  Fearing his daughter would surpass him, Kronos consumed Hestia, much to Queen Rhea's sadness. When her younger siblings were born, Kronos consumed them as well. However, his greed and arrogance was too powerful than his love for her.

To save their sixth and final child, Rhea hid away on the Island of Crete, and gave birth to Zeus, leaving him in the care of nine nymphs, The Immortal goat, Amalthea (who fed the infant Zeus milk) with Rhea occasionally visiting him.  She gave Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes, which he promptly swallowed. hestia and her siblings were immortal so instead of being digested, they spent most of their childhood and early adulthood growing in their father's stomach. One day Zeus, now a young man, was hired by Kronos to be his cup bearer and their father remained none the wiser, just assuming that Zeus was one of his mane nieces and nephews who feared him. In multiple versions of the story, Zeus found a way to save all of his siblings; in some versions, Zeus poured an extremely powerful emetic (made from nectar mixed with mustard) into Kronos' goblet, which caused the Titan King to gorge all of the contents of his stomach, in reverse order of swallowing: first Poseidon, to Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. Hestia and her siblings were introduced to Zeus, who told them that he was their younger brother. Zeus also made sure that their Escape wasn't inevitable, as he had also drugged their Titanic uncles and cousins.

After escaping Mount Orthys, Hestia and her siblings his away in Zeus' Cave, at the base of Mount Ida, where they were reunited with Rhea. In accordance to Uranus's prophecy, Hestia and her siblings unanimously agreed to wage war on their tyrannical father. However, Poseidon warned his brothers and sisters that The Titans were armed with special weapons and they had none themselves.
