Hercules (born Heracles, later changed to distance himself from Hera due to her many tragedies) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is based on the mythological character of the same name and was adapted by the late Stan Lee and late Jack Kirby.
Hercules first appeared as a prominent member of the Avengers, the Champions; Damage Control; Defenders; Heroes for Hire; God Squad; Renegades. It is also notable that he partners up with Amadeus Cho and has a rivalry with Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder.
He made his cinematic debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Love and Thunder.
