Percy Jackson's Greek Gods[]

Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]

The Battle of the Labyrinth[]

In the fourth novel, Percy is also somewhat resentful of Hephaestus because one of his prototypes, Talos, was one of the reasons why Bianca di Angelo was killed.

In the Labyrinth, Annabeth and her friends find their way to the God's forge after following a mechanical spider. Hephaestus gives the demigods a quest to Find out who is using his favorite forge at Mount St Helens. He also mentions that the story of Zeus throwing him off Mount Olympus is a myth his mother fabricated because she is the one who did it

He later comes to Ogygia, telling Calypso Percy must leave the island. He also informed Percy that his mother Hera is a perfectionist when it comes to their family. He mentions how a regular mortal was able to navigate the mazez making Percy realize he needs the help of Rachel Elizabeth Dare, a mortal able to see through the Mist.

When Annabeth and Percy meet Hera at the end of the novel, Annabeth realizes that Hephaestus was right because the woman is dismissive of her nephew, Nico's survival.

The Last Olympian[]

During the Battle of Manhattan, Hephaestus fights many of the Titans' army. However Typhon throws Hephaestus so hard he creates a new lake in Virginia.

At the end of the novel, Hephaestus is one of the gods who votes on Percy's request that all gods claim their children when they all turn 13.

The Heroes of Olympus[]

Personality[]

Hephaestus is aloof, pragmatic, cynical and has a subtly fatalist point of view of others, especially his fellow Olympians if not all organic life forms in general. He has a tendency to be gruff, as well as to be bitter and disappointed in life, in people, and in other "living organisms".
