Princess Helga is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She was the princess of Arendelle and the middle daughter of King Harald, the sister of Ingrid and Gerda, and the maternal aunt of Elsa and Anna. She débuts in the seventh episode of the fourth season and is portrayed by guest star Sally Pressman and co-star Bailey Herbert.
Helga is based on Kai from the fairytale "The Snow Queen".
Legacy[]
Decades later, an embittered and long-released Ingrid is given proof by Anna of how much her younger sisters cared about her. Realizing she never lost Gerda and Helga's love for her, Ingrid destroys herself to be with her departed sisters again. In the afterlife, the three sisters hold hands, happy to be together after so long. [1]
Later, Elsa and Anna find the old portrait of their mother and aunts.[2]
Personality[]
Princess Helga was kind, considerate and supportive of her family and her subjects. She was also loving to both of her sisters, accepting their quirks and faults. She was also accepting of her sister Ingrid despite the latter's fear that everyone would treat her like the monster. Helga ultimately proved to be the only one of the two sisters who loved Ingrid stronger, accepting her for her ice powers, a trait she shares with her niece Anna in regards to how she feels towards Elsa, Helga's elder niece. When she learned that The Duke of Wesleton attempted to kiss Ingrid and subsequently call Ingrid a monster, Helga said she would make sure that her father ended Arendelle's partnership with Wesleton. However, the encounter leads to her demise when the Duke pushes Helga in front of him and he cowardly runs away once Ingrid accidentally freezes and kills her sister.
