Hector Zeroni (known as Zero in Camp Green Lake) is the deuteragonist of the 1998 novel, Holes, and Disney's 2003 film adaptation. He is the best friend of Stanley Yelnats and the descendant of Madame Zeroni (the woman who cursed Stanley's great-great-great-grandfather).
In the film adaptation, he was portrayed by Khleo Thomas.

Hector's great-great-great-grandmother, Madame Zeroni, was a one-legged gypsy. She was the woman who placed a curse on Stanley Yelnats' family because Stanley's great-great grandfather Elya did not fulfill his end of the bargain with her.
Hector grew up living in many different places, having no real home. His mother was separated from him at the park one day for unknown reasons and never came back. Both boys were at juvenile youth facility, Camp Green Lake. This is because Hector stole world famous shoes at a charity for homeless shelters that Hector threw away and Stanley picked up. A few days later, he steals shoes from Payless and ends up at the camp as well. At the end of the book/film, Hector is reunited with his mother after using his money from the chest he and Stanley found to hire a team of investigators to find her. It later turns out she had been looking for him as well.
Using the money from Stanley I's treasure chest Hector and Stanley found, Yelnats and the Zeronis later become next-door neighbors. All the boys from Camp Green Lake reunite after the camp was closed, turning it into a Girl Scout campsite.
