Agent Clinton Francis "Clint" Barton is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He debuts as a minor character in the 2011 film, Thor, one of the titular main protagonist of The Avengers quadrilogy, a voice only cameo in Black Widow, and the titular main protagonist of the 2021 Disney+ miniseries Hawkeye
Clint is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a well-known vigilante and superhero known as Hawkeye who is the son of Edith Barton and the husband of former fellow agent Laura Barton and father of their three children, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel. At first sent to eliminate Natalia Romanova because of her status as a world class threat, he instead recruited her and eventually became her best friend. He became one of the founding members of the group of vigilantes known as the Avengers.
After his family were victims of Thanos' snap, he went under the code name Ronin, a dangerous vigilante who went after hardened criminals. However, because of the Hulk's Blip, his children and wife were resurrected. After Natasha's and Tony Stark's sacrifice, he met the young woman Kate Bishop, who was inspired by Clint after he helped inadvertently saved her life during the battle of Manhattan. He eventually became her mentor, with both of them eventually sharing the Hawkeye code name together.
