Harley Quinn (real name Harleen Frances Quinzel ) is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Harley Quinn was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm as a humorous henchwoman for the supervillain Joker. She debuted in the 22nd episode of the television series, Batman: The Animated Series , "Joker's Favor", on September 11, 1992. She was later adapted into the comics due to the character's popularity. Since then she has been an on/off ally of Batman and has become more of an anti-hero in recent years.
