A half-ghost are Human/ghost hybrids that can come to be when a human is exposed to ectoplasmic energy that mixes with their human DNA, sometimes called a "Halfa." However, not everyone can become half-ghost if these events occur. Some individuals, if exposed to ectoplasmic energy, can possibly die from it, as this could have happened if Sam and Tucker possibly entered the Fenton portal. A half-Ghost who loses his powers can also regain them is exposed to ectoplasmic energy again. Siblings Daniel and Danielle Fenton-Phantom (additionally his clone) and Vlad Masters-Plasmius are the only known half-ghosts in existence.

- In an alternate reality, Sam Manson became a half-ghost instead of Danny in one of Butch Hartman's videos and Jack Fenton became a half-ghost in an alternate timeline where he was exposed to receiving ecto-acne.
