Hades is a background character in The Isle of the Lost: A Descendant s Novel and Return to The Isle of The Lost, the protagonist of the novel Escape From The Isle of The Lost and a supporting character in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Descendants 3. He is the estranged husband of Maleficent and the father of Mal and Hadie. Despite leaving Mal to be raised by her mother, Hades secretly has a soft-spot for his daughter and would do anything for her.
Background[]
Before the film series, Hades had married Maleficent and had a daughter with her. This child was Mal, who didn't have any contacts with Hades, and both Maleficent and Mal both resented him; Maleficent because she thought he was a weak human and Mal because he was never there for her. L eventually, they divorced when Mal was a baby and only Evie knew the identity of Mal's father, not sharing it with another one of their friends.
