Gungans are a race of aliens featured in the Star Wars franchise, prominently in the Prequel Trilogy and The Clone Wars. They were an amphibious sentient species and the native inhabitants of the planet Naboo. The various Gungan races could live on both water and land, but often made their home in underwater cities such as Otoh Gunga. They made their peace with the people of Naboo when the people's queen, Amidala, approached to them and begged for their help in retaking the capital, for Naboo was their home as well.
