The Grottan Clan is one of the seven Gelfling clans in the 2019 live-action dark fantasy series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The Grottan Clan were one of the seven Gelfling Clans who inhabited the world of Thra. According to the Vapran Maudra Mayrin and her daughter Brea, the Grottan were considered the lowest of the seven Gelfling clans.They were thought to be extinct due to none of them adventuring into the world above.
The Grottans were fed with disdain due to the Gelflings and Skeksis considered seeing them the lowest of the Gelfling Hierarchy. They lived in the Caves of Grot, which were slowly being corrupted by the Darkening.
They were green-skinned, had slightly bigger ears and their eyes were fully brown and their pupils large, making them being able to see in the Dark. However, they were sensitive to the light but their eyesight was capable of adjusting.
The Grottans joined the Gelfling Resistance when Rian of the Stonewood Clan in Stone-in-the-Wood to fight off the Skeksis.
