Gretel is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She débuts in the fifteenth episode of the seventh season and is portrayed by guest star Sara Canning and co-star Lily van der Griend. She was a witch who befriended Drizella when they teamed up to win the next two spots in the Coven of the Eight and find the golden flower. However, Gothel reveals to Drizella there is no golden flower and that there is only one place open and challenges both Gretel and Drizella to kill the other to obtain the spot. Drizella ends up winning the duel to get revenge on her family.
Gretel is based on the character of the same name from the fairytale "Hansel and Gretel".
