Alan Scott (also known as the Green Lantern) is one of the eponymous main protagonists of the Green Lantern franchise. Credited as the original Green Lantern, he enforces the willpower across the universe. Alan is the father of Jade (who is also a Green Lantern) and Todd Rice/Obsidian

He was created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger, first appearing in the comic book All-American Comics #16, published in 1940.
