Gideon is a major antagonist of of Charmed, serving as the main antagonist of Season 6 and the overarching antagonist of Season 7.
He was an elder and the headmaster of the Magic School as well as Leo's former mentor. However, he saw the potential evil that He feared Wyatt Halliwell would have one day and arranged for his elimination while passing off as an ally to the Charmed Ones.
His true colors were revealed when Phoebe and Paige went through a portal that led them to a mirror dimension.

When Leo first became a Whitelighter Gideon mentoring him, perhaps even as a father figure. He was also the one who had fought the other elders for Piper

Gideon was later killed by a vengeful Leo for killing Chris and attempting to kill innocent Wyatt.

Season 7[]
Gideon's betrayal left an impact on the Charmed Ones, they became disillusioned with the Elders, even cutting off ties with them and effectively ending their relationship with the Elders. Leo was driven by rage as well, feeling nothing but hated for his former mentor. He developed an obsession to destroy the demon Barbas for the role he played in helping Gideon, inadvertantly killing his fellow Whitelighter elder Zola, and becoming An Avatar. In spite of Gideon's betrayal, Piper and Leo eventually reconciled their relationship after Leo gave up his immortality by falling from grace.

- Tried to kill Wyatt when he was a baby on multiple occasions. This led Wyatt to becoming a corrupted witch and inadvertently creating a bad future where he is an evil tyrannic ruler. Wyatt was opposed by his brother Chris.
Trivia[]
- Due to Gideon's actions, he nearly became close to turning Wyatt down a path toward evil. Leo became an Avatar and their presence ultimately led to the other demons vanquishing Zankou. However he is also the reason why Leo and Piper were able to get a mortal, long life together and be blessed with a family.
