Conflict with the McCall pack[]
In 2013, the Ghost Riders attempted to kidnap the entire town of Beacon Hills and turn it's protectors, the McCall pack, into its riders, starting with Stiles Stilinski. However, Scott and his friends managed to redirect the Phantom Train out of Beacon Hills, saving the citizens trapped there. Garrett Douglas attempted to turn them into his own army; however, the Hunt was mortal neutral and not meant for anyone to control.
