Gendry, also known as The Bull and Ser Gendry of the Hollow Hill, later known as Gendry Baratheonafter being legitimized by Daenerys Targaryen, is a supporting character in the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series and the HBO television adaptation,Game of Thrones.

Gendry was a son and one of the many illegitimate kids of King Robert I Baratheon, the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and a tavern wench. He served as an apprentice of the blacksmith Tobho Mott in King's Landing before acquiring all of his father's titles after being legitimized by Daenerys Targaryen.

He was portrayed by Joe Dempsie.

Gendry was born in Flea Bottom in King's Landing, His mother was a tavern wench. Gendry did not receive either the bastard surnames used in the Crownlands (Waters) or the Stormlands (Storm) because he has never been openly acknowledged by Robert.

After just mother's death, Gendry decided to become an apprentice blacksmith. He took up work as an apprentice blacksmith under Tobho Mott, a master weaponsmith from Qohor.

Gendry was a young man with black hair and blue eyes. Gendry has a strong family resemblence to his father. Ned Stark was able to identify Gendry as one of the legitimate children of Robert I Baratheon and Stannis, Robert's best friend and brother respectively, just by looking at him.
