Gearwig is a species of mechanical insect that appeared in Dinotrux and Dinotrux: Supercharged. They are a hybrid of earwig and clamping pincer, often latch onto other Dinotrux in the Crater.

Appearance[]
True to half of their name, the Gearwig have an earwig-like body shape. They have 5 sets of wheels. According to their concept arts, their back pincers are used for gripping on the chains and bolts of other Dinotrux. Their roller feet are located in their jointed legs to allow rudimentary movement. Their front pincers jam into the gears of the halt of the trux.
Behavior[]
Gearwigs are known to clamp into the gears of Trux to find ore. They don't like the high-pitched sounds. However, there are some Gearwigs that don't like bright light and stay in the dark.

- Their species name is derived from "gear" and "earwig."
- The Gearwig are one of the few creatures in the franchise to not be derived from a dinosaur, with the other being Crabcavators.
- Gearwigs being considered a nuisance to Dinotrux is similar to earwigs in real life, as they are considered a nuisance to land owners especially since earwigs pose as a threat to their crops.
