Gaston, Duke of Orléans is the secondary antagonist of the third and final season of BBC's The Musketeers and portayed by Andre Flynn.
Biography[]
Gaston was one of the younger brothers of King Louis XIII who lived in exile, until Louis summoned his brother because he was dying and wanted to spend the last few months of his life with Gaston at his side. However, after Gaston had killed a man in a tavern and caused trouble, Treville had him imprisoned in the Bastille. However, Lucien Grimaud broke Gaston out of prison when Aramis and King Louis went to visit King Henry's grave and D'Artagnan and Porthos were nearly killed. His escape was announced by Treville to Athos (who had just rescued Porthos and D'Artagnan). Grimaud revealed he planned on getting Gaston as the next king of France because Louis was dying.
In series 3 finale, Gaston is killed by Milady de Winter, on the orders of her new employer, Queen Anne.
