History[]
Frederick was a knight of Midas' kingdom who was the true love of Princess Abigail, Midas' daughter. They eventually fell in love and were once engaged to be married. However, an ambush was unleashed upon Frederick and his company. As he went to protect the king, Midas accidentally turned his future son-in-law to stone, leaving Abigail heartbroken. She tried to break it with true love's kiss until her lips bled. Unfortunately, Abigail could not release her true love from his curse.
Trivia[]
- In the original fairytale, Midas turned his daughter to a Golden statue with his touch. Here, he turns his future son-in-law to a gold statue instead, which, like the fairy tale was an accident.
- Frederick appears as a golden statue on the title card for the episode "What Happened to Frederick?"
