The Forest is a major location in the 2006 film Over the Hedge. It is the home of the wildlife in suburbia and where RJ, Verne and their surrogate family, taking up residence in a log located there.

The forest is a small patch of forest in suburbia. It is the place where Verne and his adoptive family reside and they all share a log together.
According to Verne, the animals have two ponds: one where they drink and the other they go to the bathroom.

When the family was in hibernation, Verne learned that an entire suburb was built around them while they were sleeping. He ventures out of the forest and is horrified to see what the humans have done to their home.
At the end of the movie, both RJ and Tiger are invited into the family and continue to live there
