Again, Fishlegs was normally hopeless at rope climbing. But this time he was up that rope as quick as a Shortwing Squirrelserpent scrambling up a tree.

~ Book 3 describing Fishlegs Ingerman
Fishlegs No-Name is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Camicazi) of the How to Train Your Dragonbook series by Cressida Cowell. He is the chief of the No-Names, the best friend of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and Camicazi of the Bog Burglars, and the owner of a Basic Brown Horrorcow, formerly an Unnamed Chickenpoxer, and a Deadly Shadow, Arrogance, Innocence, and Patience. He is later revealed to be the son of Hiccup's archenemy, Alvin the Treacherous, who Fishlegs disowned due to his past abandonment of his mother and his attempts to kill Hiccup.
Another version of Fishlegs appeared in the DreamWorks adaptation of the book series, where he was voiced by Christopher Minz-Plaza.
According to the Deadly Shadow, Termagant eventually fell in love with a Fisherman from the Peaceable Country (who is later revealed to be Alvin the Treacherous). They married, much to Moody's fury; however, Alvin abandoned his wife while pregnant with their child. When Termagant gave birth, Fishlegs was born a "runt." As such, he was banished by his grandfather, Termagant's ruthless father Madness the Murderous. However, unknown to him, Termagant secretly ordered her Deadly Shadow to take Fishlegs to Hero's End. Arrogance, Innocence, and Patience promised her that they would protect her baby but unfortunately The three-headed dragon lost baby Fishlegs. No matter how long they searched they can never find the child and were forced to return to termangant, only to find that she had died due to grief and complications of childbirth. Furious, Arrogance, Innocence and Patience punished Madness by killing him. Unknown to them, the child survived.
As an infant, Fishlegs washed up on the shores of Berk, with no family taking him in. The only heirloom he had was a claw lobster necklace that his mother gave him. With no family to belong to, he was given the last name, No-Name. Growing up, Fishlegs was best friends with Hiccup Haddock and they were often bullied by Hiccup's obnoxious cousin, Snotface Snotlout.

Personality[]
Fishlegs is rather clumsy, but is Hiccup's best friend and loyal to him. Fishlegs is shown to have a dry sense of humor and sarcastic, much like Hiccup in the film franchise. He is, however, a loyal and caring friend to Hiccup and Camicazi, with a strong friendship that had been strong since they were all children after being held captive by Alvin and the Romans. As such, he rejects Alvin as his father and goes in to start his own tribe called the No Names.
Snotface Snotlout and the other young Hooligans are picking on him as much as Hiccup. Generally is a worrier and would rather not get into dangerous situations, but will step up when really needed.
