History

The Desolation of Smaug

In the film, he aided Legolas to prevent Thorin and his company escaping the Woodland Realm in wooden barells by summoning the guards at the farthest end to close the back gate.

He later informs Legolas that Tauriel left.

The Battle of the Five Armies

Feren is sent by Thranduil and tearfully informs Legolas that Tauriel has been banished from Mirkwood. However, Legolas tells Feren that he will not be returning home. He later participates in the Battle of the Five Armies and uses a horn to summon the Elves back to Mirkwood.
