The Elder Wand is one of the three titular objects of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The Elder Wand was possessed by Antioch Peverell and according to Harry Potter legend, Death itself allegedly gave it to him. However, Harry and Dumbledore theorized that Antioch and his brothers were so talented wizards, it is possible Antioch created it himself. It switches loyalty whenever the previous owner is defeated by the previous opponent.
The Elder Wand was possessed by Gellert Grindelwald, which he used in his fight against Albus Dumbledore, who uses it throughout the series. He had Snape kill him so the Elder Wand would no longer switch loyalties. However, it foiled when Draco disarmed Dumbledore in the Astronomy Tower and the Elder Wand switch loyalties to Draco. However, when Harry defeated Draco in Malfoy Manor, the wand swapped loyalty to Harry. Voldemort stole it from Dumbledore's grave and hoped to harness it in his duel with Harry. However, the wand recognized him as its true owner and the Killing Curse backfired on Voldemort and killed him. Harry used the wand to restore his own before snapping it in half and returning it to Dumbledore's tomb.
