The dryads are a oak tree nymphs or oak tree spirit in Greek mythology. They have the ability to communicate with plants and trees, cast spells, and transform into trees.
Types[]
Daphnaie[]
These were nymphs of the laurel trees.
Epimelides[]
The Maliades, Meliades or Epimelides were nymphs of apple and other fruit trees and the protectors of sheep.
Hamadryad[]
Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and, like many, were tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs.
