The Dragons are created in the Ninjago franchise who are supporting character in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and the titular characters of it's sequel series Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
They were the first species of creation, mystical creatures that originated from the Realm of Oni and Dragons, the first realm in existence. Thousands of years ago, they were at war with the Oni. They have spread to many realms including Ninjago, Djinjago, the Wyldness, Imperium and Mysterium.
History[]
Source Dragons[]
The Source Dragons are a secretive and incredibly strong group of dragons that live outside the normal world. They have god-like powers to connect with different realms, represent important ideas that are essential to the universe, and are the origin of all Elemental Powers.
Hybrids[]
Dragon-Oni[]
Somehow, the First Spinjitzu Master was born between a dragon and an Oni. The FSM eventually left the realm and have two sons, Garmadon and Wu. Garmadon went in to marry Misako Montgomery. They had a son, Lloyd Garmadon.
Human Descendants[]
The dragons have few human descendants. Garmadon and Misako's son Lloyd was a human/dragon/Oni tribrid. However, despite him being the grandson of the FSM, Lloyd never displayed any dragon qualities in the original series and He didn't have access to his dragon powers until he connected with the Elemental Dragon of Energy. If Lloyd were to have children of his own, his descendants would have dragon and Oni blood within him.
Conduits[]
A conduit is an Elemental Master who forge a connection with an elemental dragon. The Energy Source Dragon sparked Lloyd a portion of his dragon power so he can activate the portal gate at the Imperium Monastery, allowing the remaining dragons to make their escape into the Monastery of Spinjitzu. However when he first accessed his pets, Lloyd passed out, leading Zane to carry him to safety. It's implied that Lloyd isn't the first conduit and there have been creatures like him before. According to Lloyd Garmadon's protege and daughter figure, Sora, he can access the powers of the Dragon Cores if they were made with the Source Dragons' power.
