Draal the Deadly was a major character of Trollhunters. Initially treating Jim coldly, Draal befriended him after the boy started his life. Since then, he dedicated himself as being Jim's friend, protector and mentor.
Background[]
Draal was the son of Kanjigar the Courageous and Ballustra. Before the series, he participated in the Battle of Killahead Bridge. After his father was chosen to become the Trollhunter (protector of Trollkind), Kanjigar distanced himself from Draal and his family to protect them. Since then, Draal hoped to become his father's successor, seeing it as his birthright with a deep desire to prove himself to his dad. However, some of Draal's behavior child have been from the fact that Kanjigar distanced himself. After the amulet chose a human, Jim Lake Jr., Draal developed a rivalry with the teenager and used to bully him. However, after Jim spared his life, Draal became Jim's protector, mentor in combat and surrogate brother.
He was a member of Team Trollhunters until Draal was corrupted by Gunmar, who put the troll under his control with his sword. However, the spell wore off when he, Gunmar and Angor Rot entered Merlin's tomb. Draal assisted Jim one last time trying to retrieve the Staff of Avalon (Gunmar got to it first). He died protecting Jim when Angor stabbed him in an attempt to kill the teenager
