The relationships of Douglas Davenport throughout Lab Rats.
Family[]
Donald Davenport[]

Donald is Douglas' older brother and though they grew up together, the two did not get along. Douglas often felt overshadowed by his brother and was often bullied by Donald when they were younger, being not that different from their sons, Chase and Adam. Even when Douglas got taller than his brother, Donald found a way around it and made a robot that he used to torment Douglas. The poor treatment he initially received would later cause Douglas to become an evil sociopath in his early days on the show. They founded Davenport Industries together but Douglas went behind Donald's back to genetically engineer Adam, Bree, Chase, and Daniel and infuse them with their bionic technology. However, after Donald rescued the eldest three, Douglas finally went over the edge and was obsessed with getting his revenge but faked his own death and lead Donald into believing he was dead. When Douglas resurfaced in 2013, he revealed himself to Donald but strangely enough, he only had Marcus stun him and didn't harm Donald when he was their prisoner. Since his appearance, Douglas tries desperately in getting back at his brother for taking his children and plotted to get them back. In "Sink or Swim Douglas said he loves tormenting his brother and that was why he sent Adam, Bree, and Chase under the Triton app after Donald, Leo and Tasha.
However, Douglas grew terrified of his partner Victor Krane and genuinely warned Donald and the kids that Victor Krane was dangerous. When Douglas rescues the kids, Donald had his brother at gunpoint and ordered him to leave his house but unlike dogs, Donald was willing to show Douglas mercy. By now the two would have an overgrown sibling rivalry that has gone too far. Because of their big egos, it took Leo to convince Douglas to let go of his petty against his brother, as this was about fixing Bree's chip and not about their big egos. The brothers worked together to recreate Bree's chip. However, Donald kicks Douglas out of the house yet again until the older brother acknowledges he was being a little hard on Douglas and allows him to stay at their home for a while. Despite reconciling, Donald and Douglas continue to fight, especially when it comes with dealing Adam, Bree, Chase and Leo's bionics. Despite this, the brothers have a healthy relationship, as Douglas was deeply concerned for his brother when he was sustained in critical condition because of Krane, feeling he should have protected him during the battle.
When it comes to the kids, Douglas claims they like him more than Donald because he gave them hidden abilities and tries to by the fun uncle for them. Apart from this, Donald learned to trust his brother by letting him oversee the bionic Academy in his absence and entrusting him with developing projects to improve the students' lives there. During a conversation on the phone, Douglas promised not to tweak Leo, Adam, Bree and Chase's bionics like he normally did and said he would miss Donald too. Donald also pushes Douglas to be a better father when his son, Daniel comes into his life.
Chase Davenport[]

Chase is Douglas' second-youngest child, son and adoptive nephew. Out of all his children, he appeared to connect with Chase the most, due to both feeling overshadowed by an older sibling and underappreciated, as he saved Chase from an avalanche. He offered to give his son Bree's speed and Adam's strength and was manipulating his son the whole time. Chase seemingly agreed and apparently joined Douglas' side. He smuggled him into Donald's Lab because of Douglas' lack of resources. Douglas offered for Chase to call him "Dad" but the boy declined, as it was an awkward situation for them both. When Adam, Bree and Donald confronted Chase and Douglas, Chase revealed he was playing Douglas the whole time, because he would never betray his own family because they were a team. Just as Douglas was about to hurt Donald, Bree, Adam and Leo Chase acted quickly and froze Douglas in a block of ice.
However, Douglas escaped, and when the family was reunited, Chase continued to resent his biological father as he imprisoned the Lab Rats yet again and controlled Chase and his siblings with the Triton App. However, Douglas underestimated Chase's and Leo's bond because the latter had broken the former out of the Triton App and Douglas and Krane's control. Even when Chase was freed from the Triton App, Douglas had Bree and Adam attack him to incapacitate him rather than kill. When Krane later intended to destroy Adam, Bree and Chase, Douglas turned against him and tried warning the family that Krane was coming after them. However, Chase did not believe him, but had belief that Douglas may be telling the truth. After Douglas came to save them, Chase immediately used his Force Field and used it to block Krane's killing blow, effectively saving his biological father. Afterwards Chase seemed to slowly forgive him, as he tried stopping Donald from throwing Douglas out of the house at least twice. Douglas later saved his sons and daughter from Victor Krane when he tried to kill them. Since re-creating Bree's chip and Douglas reconciling with his brother, Douglas and Chase began growing close and Douglas hung out more than Adam and Bree do with Douglas, even giving him more abilities after empathizing with Chase on what it was like to be picked on by an older brother. During the discovery of the Bionic Team's secret, Chase had apparently forgot to scan S-1's presence at the mission sight and Donald began to chastise Chase but Douglas came into his son's defense because he made a small mistake.
In Season 4, Douglas decided to embrace his role as Chase's father, as they hung out more, bringing a dead spider back to life. He forbade him from awakening the Bionic Soldier Kate's commando app. Douglas also did everything he could to help rescue Chase from Giselle when she abducted him, as he immediately ran to the cyber desk to find a way to hack into Giselle's mainframe.
Leo Dooley[]

Leo is Douglas' step-nephew since the former is Donald's step-son, however, the two were initially bitter enemies because of the teenager's constant interference in his and Marcus' own plan to abduct Adam, Bree and Chase. Since then, Douglas had Marcus target Leo and sent his android son to end Leo, despite him being a kid. Douglas tried killing Leo and his family at least 522 times (as mentioned in one of the episodes). One of these occasions included trying to blow up the lab with Leo and Donald in it and sending Adam, Bree, and Chase after the family under the Triton App. In the latter, Douglas underestimated Leo's and Chase's relationship, as the younger Davenport brother broke Chase out of it. However, despite his past with his family, Douglas visited Leo at school and came to warn him about Krane, knowing full well that his step-nephew would believe him because he knew about Marcus and Douglas before the rest of the team did. Despite the past, Leo listened and believed Douglas about Krane after watching a video of Krane implanting himself with bionics. Since then, Douglas calls Leo "the kid" in a good-natured manner. After Bree destroyed her chip to become normal, Leo went to Douglas (behind Donald's back) for help fixing her chip. However, as Douglas gloated how better he was than his brother, Leo chastised his step-uncle for obsessing about beating Donald, because Bree's situation was more important. Despite his big ego, Douglas was convinced to help his daughter get her bionics back as Leo smuggled him into Donald's lab. However, when Donald found out, he berated Leo until Douglas came to his defense, because "he was just trying to help [Bree]."
Since then, they have learned to get along better and became close friends, especially since Donald let Douglas moved into the Dooley-Davenport household and later came to care for Leo, such as making him a bionic arm after learning he would never be able to use it without bionic components. Douglas gave him a bionic arm after learning he would never be able to use his normal arm again and he trained Leo how to use it properly.
The two appeared to have moved behind their enmity, but Leo mentioned he has to refrain himself from taking out Douglas at least five times a day, as Leo tells Daniel that his father is not "that bad of a guy" and reasoned with him why Douglas lied to him. Douglas later gave Leo the responsibility to train Daniel, believing he could handle it; but was infuriated that Leo disobeyed him and gave Daniel to the new, upgraded bionic chip, after specifically telling him not to. Douglas later saved Leo from Marcus, knowing that it would be a fight his nephew could not win. However, Leo chased him out of the Lab and Douglas retreated.
Bree Davenport[]

Douglas with his daughter.
Bree is Douglas' biological and only daughter and adoptive niece. Douglas and Bree were initially enemies because he threatened her brothers and her adoptive father, and Douglas' brother, Donald. But now have a loving relationship. Despite everything, Douglas does truly care about Bree as his daughter. Douglas saved her life twice: once from Victor Krane and a second time from nearly dying because her chip overloaded her. Bree was also the one to call Donald out on giving Douglas a second chance, pushing Donald to reconcile with him. He helped fix Bree's chip and even gave her the new ability of invisibility.
In Season 4, when Chase manipulated and used Kate, turning her into Spikette, Douglas offered to give Bree the commando app so she could stop Spike and Spikette. However, she initially refused until Douglas said it would give her a chance to destroy Chase, which excited Bree.
However, Bree does not trust Douglas, mostly because he steals Tasha's bracelets out of respect for her close relationship with Tasha.
Daniel Davenport[]

Daniel is Douglas' youngest son and child and someone he is rather protective of. He gave him up for adoption because he knew he could not raise a child while on the run. He reunited with his son when Daniel was thirteen and contacted Douglas, who was not ready to be a father. Despite this, experiences with Adam, Bree, and Chase taught Douglas to be a better father for Daniel, such as be honest with him, help him get used to his bionic abilities and give him fatherly advice.
At first, Douglas didn't want to have a relationship with Daniel until his family encouraged him to invite Daniel over to the island to meet them. However, Douglas never told Daniel he was Bionic like his brothers and sister until they accidentally reawaken his bionic chip. Daniel was hurt by his father lying to him and Douglas accidentally shouted he didn't want Daniel coming there in the first place. The two reconciled when Daniel had a conversation with Leo. Douglas happily told Daniel he could come by any time. However, like Douglas did with Leo, he let Daniel haven't his Bionics because he thought he could handle it without realizing how similar the boys were. After learning Daniel was using his bionics, he enrolled him into the Bionic Academy and didn't want Leo to give Daniel the upgrade they gave the other students.
After Giselle kidnapped Daniel and the other Bionic Soldiers, Douglas and his family did everything to find them. When Marcus took Daniel's form, Douglas thought that it was his son until it was too late. Realizing how close Daniel and Douglas were, Marcus decided to take out his little brother first until Douglas encouraged Daniel to replicate Marcus is abilities, therefore seemingly destroying him. When Douglas revealed he was going to recreate Marcus and reprogram him, Daniel and the rest of their family shouted "No!".
Tasha Davenport[]
Douglas does not get along with his sister-in-law, mostly because he kidnapped Adam, Bree and Chase and tried to kill her husband and son. She was also upset when Douglas gave Leo a bionic arm and often gets mad at him if Leo gets hurt with them. Season Four revealed Douglas also steals her bracelets, which is why Bree does not trust her biological father. However, he does not seem to mind whenever Tasha (or Bree) call him "Dougy and, like the rest of the family, presumably congratulated her and Donald on their first baby.
Naomi Davenport[]
Naomi is Douglas' only niece through his brother Donald and sister-in-law, Tasha Davenport (not counting Bree, who is his adoptive niece). In the Spin-off, Douglas oversaw the Elite Force so Donald could be there when Naomi was born.
Friends[]
Taylor[]
Douglas met Taylor when she and Krane confronted him and his step-nephew. She preceded in attacking Douglas, Leo, and Perry. Because Taylor caused Leo's injury, Douglas had to fix it with bionics.
When she showed up at the Bionic Academy, Douglas feared her due to his and Leo's past encounter with her. This time, she was not there to hurt anyone and came to them for help, which would actually warn them of the doomsday virus that was not only on her chip but also, the Bionic Soldiers, and the Lab Rats (excluding Leo). Douglas and Chase tried to jog her memory on how Krane put the virus on her chip by recreating the day she was created; She was disturbed by Douglas's and Chase's impression of Krane and her and was reluctant to put her life and her siblings' life in Douglas.
After Leo accidentally blinded her, Douglas created glasses for her that vibrated whenever there was an obstacle coming near her and she would be able to move.
Romance[]
Giselle Vickers[]
Douglas used to date Giselle in college; she later tricked him int o letting him do a movie about the Lab Rats. He tried everything he could to impress Giselle and commit another relationship with her. He did so by changing his looks and boasting to her about Marcus. When Giselle revealed that she was plotting to steal Chase's intelligence out of vengeance because Adam, Bree and Chase stole the spotlight when she was going to unveil her Androids to the world. Even after it was revealed that Giselle is evil, Douglas is nearly tempted to accepting to protect her when Troy tried to kill her and getting back together with her if they share coffee until Izzy and Leo dragged him away from her.
Douglas lost all interest in her when she kidnapped all the Bionic Soldiers and his own son, Daniel.
