Donkey is the deuteragonist of the Shrek franchise. He is the deuteragonist of Shrek and Shrek 2 , one of the two tritagonists of Shrek the Third , and one of the main characters of Shrek Forever After . He is the husband of Dragon, the father of the Dronkies, and the best friend of Shrek, Puss in Boots and Fiona.
He is a talking donkey created by William Steig and adapted by DreamWorks Animation for the Shrek franchise. The character is voiced by Eddie Murphy.
