Doctor Stephen Strange (better known as Doctor Strange) is the main protagonist of the Doctor Strange comics published by DC Comics. He was a brilliant and formerly arrogant, neurosurgeon whose hands were crippled in a car accident. Seeking Enlightenment, he was mentored by the Ancient One and became the protector of the Sanctum Sanctorum, in 177A Bleecker Street, Greenwhich Village, New York City. He became the Sorcerer Supreme, the prime protector of the earth against the magical, mystical and interdimensional threats, alongside his best friend Wong. He has collected a plethora of mystical objects over the years, such as the Eye of Agamotto and the Cloak of Levitation.
Doctor Strange debuted in Strange Tales #110 (April, 1963) and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed the character, debuting in the 2016 film Doctor Strange. He later reprised the role in various films, such as: Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
