Doctor Octopus (real name Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius ) is the secondary antagonist of the Spider-Man franchise.
He is an evil scientist who is one of Peter Parker 's greatest enemies and recurring villain in the Marvel Universe.
During the freak accident, his artificial tentacles merged into his back when he performed a dangerous experiment and turned Doc Ock into a deranged criminal.
When his body was dying, Octavius switched minds with Spider-Man, becoming Peter Parker . Wanting to price he could be a better vigilante, Doc Ock titled himself as the Superior Spider-Man
