Devon Lee is a major character in Cobra Kai. She is one of the students of Johnny Lawrence who joined Eagle Fang so the karate team could complete in the girls' semifinals competition. She was also close friends with Tory Nichols, Samantha and Anthony LaRusso, Eli Moskowitz , Demetri Alexopoulos, and Kenny Payne (who shares a possible mutual crush with her).
Before that, Devon was on West Valley debate team. After Cobra Kai defeated Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, Devon joined Cobra Kai under Terry Silver and Kim Dae-eun's leadership until learning Silver's true nature as a liar and a cheater. She later becomes one of Daniel LaRusso and Chozen Toguchi's students once Johnny joined Miyagi-Do after Eagle Fang was shut down.
She currently alternates between Miyagi-Do Karate and Cobra Kai Dojo due to a partnership between her sensei's Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso.
History[]
Devon Lee is one of the few girls in the Miyagi-Fang dojo. In the past, she lost her mother from cancer, which is something she can relate with Tory Nichols.
Personality[]
As a student of Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do, Devon developed a deep bond with her mentor, Johnny Lawrence, who came to see Devon as if she were a daughter figure. This bond grew stronger when Devon defended Johnny against Sam, who accused him of making things worse for the team by sending Daniel away.She was also initially afraid of Tory Nichols after the latter defeated her at the All Valley 2018 Tournament but the girls became good friends during their time together.
At times, Devon proves she will do whatever it takes to win the competition as she puts laxatives in Kenny's water so she wins her spot in the Sekai Tekai. However, Devon felt guilty and remorseful for what she had done, up to the point where she almost cried and confessed that she did it to Johnny. However, Johnny advised her to handle it any way she wanted but also reminded her that he was the one to put that in her position. He doesn't enjoy saying hurtful things to her and the other students; He's hard on her and everybody else because he believes that kids like her can reach new heights. Devon also steps up whenever one of her friends or loved ones is in danger, as she comes to aid Tory in her flight with Kim Dae-Eun and is quick to defend Johnny when Samantha insults him. She also decided to confess to Kenny for what she did to him and apologized after seeing how Eli inadvertently cost Dimitri his relationship with Yasmine.
When they got to Barcelona, Kenny had time to think on the plane and forgave her for her prank because he always sort of liked her and it made him like her more, causing Devon to smile.
Additionally, one of the reasons why Devon could form a relationship with Johnny was there third loss of a mother growing up and a share of love for several movies such as Bloodsport (and its sequels), The Delta Force, Billy Jack, The Octagon, and Lady Dragon. Another reason why she could form a friendship with Tory was do some bonding over the shared loss of a mother to cancer. There is also an honorable side to Devon. She quits Cobra Kai after seeing how horrible Kim Da-Eun is and wants to become a champion her own way.
Powers and Abilities[]
Skilled Martial Artist: Due to once being a martial arts fan, Devon has some form of understanding of karate, as she kept up with Johnny when he was training her. Devon likes to rely on her own tactics and become a fighter her own way not what Kim Dae-eun and Terry Silver wanted her to be.
She is trained in the ways of Miyagi-Do, and Cobra Kai under Johnny, Silver, Kim, Daniel LaRusso and Chozen Toguchi's teachings, making her one of the strongest female fighters in the series alongside Tory Nichols, Samantha LaRusso, Aisha Robinson, Zara Malik, Kim Dae-eun, and Sofia Alvarez.
