Agent Derek Smithers is a supporting character in Alex Rider. He is the armorer for MI6 who provides field agents with their weapons and gadgetry.
As of the end of Scorpia Rising, Smithers left MI6 and presumably transferred somewhere else. He has a bubbly personality, and is always wearing a fat suit as a disguise.
