The Decepticons are the main antagonistic faction of the 2018 sci-fi film Bumblebee. They are a faction of Cybertronians who are the mortal enemies of the Autobots and led by Megatron.
History[]
Foundation[]
The Decepticons were formed centuries ago, lead by Optimus Prime's former friend, Megatron, in an effort to fight Cybertron's heroes, the Autobots. For centuries, civil war broke out and Cybertron was doomed.
By 1987, Megatron had disappeared and Soundwave was in charge of the Decepticons in their master's absence.
Bumblebee[]
WIth the destruction of Cybertron, the Autobots chose to flee the planet and seek refuge on Earth. Shockwave ordered for their communication tower to be destroyed as the other seekers went in to attack their enemies. However, the Decepticons were unsuccessful, as Optimus Prime managed to evacuate his student, Bumblebee,and the other Autobots from the planet.
The Decepticon seekers, Shatter and Dropkick, who sought to hunt down Optimus Prime and the other remaining Autobots who went into hiding. When they found earth, Shatter presented herself and her partner as "Peacekeepers", manipulating the Sector Seven agents with false information that Bumblebee was a war criminal where they were from. The two attempted to use a beacon for the other Decepticons to come to Earth. However, Bumblebee and his best friend, Charlie Watson, managed to foil their plans when Shatter and Dropkick were each killed. Therefore, they saved the Earth from the Decepticons and the Autobots came to earth first instead.
