―Daffy Duck
Daffy Duck is a Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies character, where he usually has been depicted as a rival and occasional best friend of Bugs Bunny. Daffy was one of the first of the new "screwball" characters that emerged in the late 1930s to replace traditional "everyman" characters who were more popular earlier in the decade, such as Mickey Mouse and Popeye.
Daffy Duck is a cartoon character created by animators Tex Avery and Bob Clampett for Leon Schlesinger Productions. Daffy first appeared in Porky's Duck Hunt, released on April 17, 1937 He is usually depicted as a foil for either Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig or Speedy Gonzales.
Comics
Dell Comics kicked off their Daffy Duck comic book series starting with Four Color Comics #457, #536, and #615. They were continued as Daffy #4-17 from 1956–1959, then as Daffy Duck #18-30 from 1959–1962.
Gold Key Comics put out a comic series featuring Daffy Duck, which ran from issue #31 to #127 between 1962 and 1979. It later switched to the Whitman Comics label before finally ending its run in 1984.
In 1994, DC Comics, which is a cousin of Warner Bros., was putting out comics that showcased a bunch of classic Warner Bros. characters, like Daffy Duck, along with some Looney Tunes issues.
