Trivia[]
- The basis of the Cobra Kai fighting style incorporates elements of Tang Soo Do, Shotokan, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and American military hand-to-hand combat among others. Cobra Kai is a mixed style with an emphasis on aggressive philosophy.
- In The Karate Kid Part III Terry Silver claimed that both himself and John Kreese had studied under Master Kim Sun-Yung in Korea. This claim was proven true in Season 3, Part 2.
- For competitions, Cobra Kai's main colors for their gis are black and gold lines on their lapels and a golden button with a black fist.
Quotes[]
“ | The last time I was here, I was trying to come to terms with the words on this wall. I learned firsthand, if you live your whole life this way, you'll turn into an asshole. So, I rejected it. But what I found out later is there is no one way. If you wanna conquer life's obstacles and be the best you can be, you're gonna need to learn more than one discipline. That's why in addition to Cobra Kai, you're all gonna learn Miyagi-Do. You're gonna be taught defense. And inner strength from one of the best senseis in the world. Because aggression isn't always the answer. Sometimes, patience and defense are the keys to winning. But I can't teach you that. 'Cause my specialty is offense. "Strike first." It means be aggressive. "Strike hard." It means give it your all. "No mercy." It means not being Mr. Nice Guy. It's the hardest one to understand. But the fact is, if you're too nice, the world's gonna walk all over you." | „ |
