Chozen Toguchi is a major character in The Karate Kid franchise. He is the main antagonist of The Karate Kid Part II and a major protagonist in the YouTube Red/Netflix series Cobra Kai.
He is the nephew of the late Sato and formerly a cruel enemy of Daniel, who years later joined him in becoming one of the Miyagi-Do co-sensei's to fight against Cobra Kai.
He is portrayed by Yuji Okumoto.

Daniel LaRusso[]
Daniel is Chozen's former rival, best friend and business partner.
In Season 5B, Chozen and Johnny both became enraged at Silver for his assault on Daniel and caused them to confront silver at The former Topanga dojo.Johnny told Daniel about Chozen's crush on Kumiko, his ex-girlfriend. This inspired Daniel to encourage Chozen to tell Kumiko how he feels about her.
Johnny Lawrence[]
Johnny Lawrence is Chozen's co-sensei, best friend and business partner.
After reconciling with Chozen in 2018, Daniel expressed his hope that all his rivalries, including the one with Johnny, would end on a positive note, indirectly making Chozen aware of the ongoing tension between Daniel and Johnny. Daniel eventually explained to Chozen that Johnny was his bully in high school and how dangerous of an opponent he was. The two formally met in the summer of 2019 after Daniel had been physically assaulted by Terry Silver. The two men bonded over how they used to torment Daniel, how they used to think of him and how fondly they value him now. However, the two started to try and one up the other about there past relationship With Daniel. They went to confront Silver, hoping to avenge Daniel and defend his honor But were forced to abandon it once it became clear they were outmatched and their dojo meant they had the power. Since that didn't work, Chozen, Johnny and Amanda were all moved by Samantha's speech of how Miyagi would say this was a fight they couldn't walk away from and they needed Daniel's help. After reaching out to Robby, Chozen and Johnny stood alongside Daniel as his co-senseis and show him he wasn't alone in this fight anymore since Miyagi's passing.
Chozen was also excited for Carmen and Johnny once he learned that they were expecting a child and celebrated with the Lawrence Diazes and the LaRussos. At the club Chozen assumed that Johnny and Carmen were married before Johnny had to clarify that they were just boyfriend and girlfriend. Chozen is also the one who reminds Johnny how far he's come since losing at the 1984 All Valley under 18 championship, as he has friends and family, especially the children (Robby, Miguel and the unborn Laura). Chozen also told Johnny about his feelings for Kumiko, who has been in love with her since they were children. Johnny could tell that Chozen really liked Kumiko and told Daniel about Chozen's crush on her. This inspired Daniel to encourage Chozen to tell Kumiko how he feels about her.
Amanda LaRusso[]
Amanda LaRusso is the wife of Daniel LaRusso and one of Chozen's closest friends.
Chozen first met Daniel's wife in 2019 when he invited him over to San Fernando to take down Terry Silver. Amanda wasn't very fond of him when he first came to live with them for the summer, and tolerated him at best. However, the first straw with her was when Amanda saw Chozen skinny dipping in their pool but it got worse a few weeks later. Amanda learned Daniel and Chozen were trying to take down Silver, becoming angry after learning Daniel had infiltrated Cobra Kai and tried to recruit Mike Barnes. Frustrated, Amanda and the kids left for Ohio; even though Chozen tried comforting Daniel that his family will return, Daniel isn't so sure. However Chozen was proven correct once Amanda LaRusso learned Daniel's beef with Terry Silver from her cousin Jessica Andrews, who was also tormented by Silver back in 1985. The two were on better and friendly terms with one another since, as Amanda and Chozen both showed their support for Daniel even though he wanted to back out of fighting Silver. Amanda turned to Chozen to talk Johnny out of confronting Silver for assaulting Daniel, and was annoyed when Chozen said he was helping Johnny.
In Season 6, Amanda took pity on Chozen after his heartbreak from Kumiko and proposed that they set him up with Moon's mother Winnie rather than making him stay and watch reruns of his favorite TV series.
Samantha LaRusso[]
Samantha is the daughter of Chozen's best friend and former rival Daniel LaRusso and one of his students. Chozen first encountered Sam in 2019 during his stay at the LaRusso residence. Their interactions were minimal until the latter part of Season 5. He grows closer to Samantha as they share smiles when she explains her positive outlook and proposes ideas to uplift Daniel's spirits. He also offers her guidance regarding her upcoming fight with Tory in Season 5 by expressing his true feelings of his fight with her father and how it made him a better man. He is also seen cheering in joy when Sam wins the fight against Devon Lee.
Eli Moskowitz[]
Eli is one of Chozen's students who initially doubted his new mentor for his"deranged" methods of teaching, such as Chozen hunting them down and destroying their eggs. Chozen made them realize they needed to work together to protect their eggs and therefore Cobra Kai.
In season 6, Chozen gave Eli permission to hit the town of Barcelona so the other students could let off some steam. Later when Daniel told Chozen they needed to keep their guard up and the children had to stay in their rooms, Chozen panicked and went to find Hawk and the other Students before Daniel found out kids went out. However by the time Chozen got to the bar that the children were frequenting at, He was disappointed to find that the children had already left. Unbeknownst to him Hawk and the other students returned to the hotel before Daniel found out.
