Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X is the main protagonist of the live-action X-Men film series based on the Marvel superhero team of the same name. He is the founder of the X-Men, a group of mutants who protect humanity. However, they find themselves in a long standing battle against Xavier's former best friend, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

He is a protagonist in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse, the deuteragonist of X-Men, X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dark Phoenix, the tritagonist of Logan, a supporting character in X-Men: The Last Stand, and a minor character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine and Deadpool 2. He will return in some capacity in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
