She is the Lady of Winterfell , The eldest daughter of Lord Hoster Tully and the late Minisa Whent, the older sister of Lysa and Edmure Tully and three stillborn brothers. She is the wife of Ned Stark, the mother of Robb Stark, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Bran Stark and Rickon Stark and the stepmother of Jon Snow. She resents Jon for being her husbands illegitimate child. However, in the TV series, Catelyn's stepson is secretly the son of Ned's sister, Lyanna Stark and her secret husband, Rhaegar Targaryen.
In the books, after she had been killed during the Red Wedding, Catelyn was resurrected as Lady Stoneheart. As the new leader of the Brotherhood without Banners, Stoneheart swears revenge on House Frey and those affiliated with them, starting with revenge on Jaime Lannister for the assumed role he had when Walder Frey said the man sent his regards. Lady Stoneheart forces Brienne to betray Jaime and kill him with Lady Stoneheart's threats to kill Brienne's companions.

Trivia[]
In the book, Catelyn was resurrected as Lady Stoneheart. However, in the TV series adaptation, Catelyn is never brought back to life.
The reasons for this being the show runners of game of Thrones thought it would diminish Catelyn's character as well as Michelle's final performance. Plus they said it was beneath the actress' portayal.[3]
Nonetheless, George R.R. Martin tried to fight hard for Lady Stoneheart's inclusion into the series.
