Catherine Jane "Cat" Grant is a supporting character in the Superman comics. She is the co-worker and romantic interest of Clark Kent/Superman, making her a love rival of Lois Lane. Cat briefly dated Clark Kent before he realized his true feelings for Lois. She works at the Planet as a reporter alongside Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Steve Lombard and Ron Troupe. Her son, Adam Grant, was killed by the Toyman and initially is a critic in Supergirl due to her apparent lack of respect for authority. However, they make peace with each other when Kara saves her. In gratitude, Cat finally writes a positive review of her.
Cat Grant was created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway, first appearing in Adventures of Superman #424. (1987)
