Carmen Sánchez (née Rivera) is a main character in the 2014 film, The Book of Life.
Background[]
Carmen was the mother of Manolo and Carlos' wife. She died protecting Manolo during the Mexican War and was reunited with her family in the Land of the Remembered.
Sometime after the series she became the paternal grandmother of Manolo and Maria's twin daughters (unnamed) and an unnamed grandson (unnamed).
Personality[]
Carmen is a nice, motherly, caring and supportive woman who loved her family dearly. Her husband and son became separated (at least on an emotional level) due to her passing. While Carlos wants Manolo to become a Bullfighter, Carmen likely would’ve supported Manolo to be his own person and to chase his passions, not someone else’s.
