Carasynthia "Cara" Dune is the tritagonist in the first two seasons of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She is one of the survivors of Alderaan due to being off-world at the time of its destruction at the hands of the Galactic Empire. Cara was a member of the Rebel Alliance after Alderaan's destruction and became a bountyhunter in the days of the New Republic.
After a slight misunderstanding on the planet,, Cara became friends of The Mandalorian Din Djarin after they save each other's lives. Since then she helps him protect the Child Grogu from the remaining of the Galactic Empire.
When The Empire destroyed her home planet in the original movie, Kara was off world when her planet was destroyed. As a result, many of her friends and family died, leaving her devastated. Having managed to survive the Imperial forces when they were eliminating any Alderaan survivors, Cara became a member of the Rebel Alliance to avenge her people. Dune saw most of the action just after the Battle of Endor cleaning up local Imperial warlords. However, when the New Republic was founded, she became a bounty hunter. Her new missions mainly consisted of preserving peace as a means of maintaining order.

Personality[]
Due to the loss of her home planet, Cara hated the Galactic Empire with a burning passion. Seeking to avenge her people, she joined the Rebel alliance during the final days of the Galactic Civil War. Whenever Alderaan's destruction was mentioned, Cara would grow angry or saddened at the reminder of what she lost. Despite this, Cara, and her people were respected by other people who empathized with their loss.
She is the second major protagonist to be a survivor from Alderaan, after Leia Organa from the original film series.
Cara is completely absent in Season 3 due to her actress, Gina Carano being fired from Disney. Instead, Bo-Katan Kryze takes her role as Din Djarin and Grogu's female companion.
